Derek Dawson

Derek has been involved in the transport industry since 1982.
His career started at East Lancashire Coachbuilders as an apprentice
coachbuilder, from there he had a short spell within the rail industry
before moving to McKenna Brothers when they became agents for
Mobitec back in 2000. Derek moved to Wrightbus as National Account
Manager in 2004 but returned back to McKenna Brothers as a Director
where he deals with the day to day running of the company.
Derek spends most of his spare time involved in football, he coaches
an Under 14 team. He also enjoys good food, wine and is still trying to get
his golfing handicap down with very little success.

Malcolm Randles

Malcolm joined the company in December 1978, after a previous spell of working with Vincent at another company from October 1973. He has a comprehensive knowledge of all traditional destination displays, along with compliancy requirements for both DDA and TFL specifications.
To relax in his spare time Malcolm enjoys eating fine food, drinking fine wine and watching his beloved Manchester City, he also enjoys both listening to music and playing the piano and guitar.

Cheryl Robinson

Cheryl began her career with McKenna Brothers at the tender age of 18, having recently finished her A Levels. Back then in 1997 her main duties involved making her dad many cups of tea along with also working in the vinyl & signage department, she has been trying to perfect the art of tea making ever since with little success. Over the years Cheryl has taken time off to have two children and returned on each occasion to do various roles within the company, she has now taken on the position of Finance Director and along with Derek plays a major part in the day to day running of the company. Her hobbies away from the office include spending time with family and friends, as well as her relentless passion for retail therapy.

Richard McKenna

You could say Richard joined McKenna Brothers as soon as he was able to walk being Vincent’s son. He started off as a young boy keeping the factory tidy, helping out with odd jobs and printing, to presently working as software support manager and programming both Smartblind and LED signs.

Richard is a keen golfer, likes to keep fit at the gym and enjoys spending time with his family.

Ian Grimshaw

Ian has been with McKenna Brothers since March 2004 & joined in the position of Sales Executive, bringing his knowledge of vehicle requirements to assist with our many customers needs. His experience gained with his previous employer was quite unique, in that he was given the opportunity to serve two full apprenticeships at vehicle building and later as an auto electrician. This gave him great opportunities to further his career at East Lancashire Coachbuilders achieving Higher Management before his career move.  The commitment and enthusiasm to work with a great team behind him and a mobitec product that needs no introduction for its reliability are what motivates Ian and also to have good customer satisfaction and feedback.
In his spare time he watches Blackburn Rovers & often attempts the challenge to play golf. His family, garden & cooking interest take up the rest of his busy days.

Gary Beech

Gary joined the McKenna Brothers team in the summer of 85, having worked in each department to become the General Manager. He has extensive knowledge of the day to day running of the factory from machine breakdowns to customer requirements on both printed blinds and electronic displays, scheduling deliveries to both vehicle builders and operators.
Gary’s hobbies include DIY, F1 and MotoGP and likes listening to all types of music. He also loves spending time with his family and socialising with friends.

Chris Nelson-Jones

Chris has worked in bus related electronics design and development for over 30 years.

He joined the McKenna Brothers team in 2001, also working closely with Mobitec to develop products relevant to market needs.

In his spare time he enjoys DIY, classic car restoration and spending time with his family.

Dean Brown

Having joined the company in 1987, learning all the skills to produce quality destination blinds. Dean has attained the position of Production Manager. Along with planning and scheduling the orders for production, Dean is responsible for the programming of the artwork for all the traditional blind work we do.
Away from work he enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling the highways and byways on his motorcycle and he is also an avid Manchester United Fan.

Andy Bottomley

Andy started working for McKenna Brothers in 1994 as a vinyl fitter/sign maker. His role very quickly advanced and he soon went on to also become a fully qualified screen printer, where he produced Legal Lettering, Self Adhesive Vehicle Markings and Company Logos. Andy is now our Graphics Manager, overseeing all aspects of the companies vehicle graphic supply and fit department, when since being in this position he has won many very high profile group contracts including First Group and Stagecoach.
Outside work Andy enjoys Golf, Gardening and letting his dog take him for a walk.

Collette Robertson

Collette joined the company in September 2003 originally to work in our vinyl department, however with her previous experience and proven ability to work in an office environment; she quickly came through the ranks and is now our Office Manager.  Her main role is purchasing although she also handles all the day to day roles that this position involves.

In her spare time Collette likes to socialise with her friends and family, and is also a dedicated mum to her teenage daughter Charlotte.

Philip Oldham

Philip has worked at McKenna Brothers since 1994. Like most people he started at the bottom and worked his way up over the next 16 years to become Internal Customer Support Manager. Phil’s day to day duties include loading, checking, packing and sending all Smartblind and Led units out to bus builders, as well as dealing with faults over the phone and onsite too.
In his spare time he likes to play golf (weather permitting) or spending time in the pub playing pool or watching football.

Tristan Murphy-Randles

Tristan re-joined the company in summer 2009 after spending 14 years in the print & design industry. Having started life at McKenna Brothers in his early teens doing all the odd jobs around the factory, he now assists Andy with all vinyl based work and also creates any new artwork that lands on his desk.
Tristan’s hobbies include MCFC, reading & travelling.
