Mobitec
Flip Dot Signs are used for the display of route numbers
and destination texts on vehicles within the public transport industry.
In the new full-matrix sign, the fluorescent tube has been replaced
with LED lighting. The LED lighting consists of a strip of light
emitting diodes. The new lighting technique offers several advantages
over conventional signs.
Text
and graphics are created by using the Mobitec editing software -
Mobi Info Edit, and by means of a smart card,
are quickly and smoothly transferred to the display via the on board
control unit.
NO MAINTENANCE
The LEDs have a very long lifetime. The sign has no fluorescent
tube or inverters that need to be replaced.
RELIABILITY
Even if a few LEDs fail, the lighting is still fully functional
and does not compromise good legibility.
LEGIBILITY
Improved contrast between text and background. No excessive lighting.
Full illumination of the whole text area. The full area of each
dot is illuminated while also avoiding the dazzling effect.
SIMPLIFIED
INSTALLATION
The depth of the sign has been reduced to 65 mm. It has also been
fitted with short cable extensions. No dismounting of any part of
the sign is needed during installation in the bus. This means less
risk of damage and simpler installation.
